Uzbekistan Report
Over the last several years Uzbekistan has moved from being a Country of Particular Concern (CPC) to be placed on the USCIRF Watch List. This is important progress and has resulted in the ending police raids on religious minority communities, the granting official registration to a small number of religious groups, and the release of some prisoners incarcerated for their religious activities. However, government continues to maintain that the state must continue to control all religious affairs.
